Heading to lowes and enjoying a great drive while listening to bluegrass, saw this in the parking lot. Did not expect that. [Edit: damage is only on one side, so double what?]

haha, low bridge victim, on a rental truck. Oh man that must have made a tremendous noise.
“Hey honey what did they say the height of this truck was?”
“I don’t know, like 8 feet probably?”

Moments before : “We can totally make it under”

I like how he obviously forced himself 85% of the way through, and then decided, “Hmm guess it won’t fit.”

I hate it when that happens.

Or he was going really fast. Those don’t exactly stop on a dime. Even when they’re empty.

Me too, I thought it was odd. I expected more carnage.

Lol, aren't most trucks able to make it under though?

Hoping the rest of his day went well!

“Bet you $5 we can make it"

The truck invaded the bridges personal space, and it retaliated.

He was going to the highway to hell...michigan, to hell, michigan.

1 800 rent-a-truck? More like 1 800 bought-a-truck now.

The town I grew up in had a low bridge on a main route. They did it on purpose to keep truck traffic out of that part of town. Every few months somebody would blow by the warning signs and jam their truck under it. It usually ended up looking more or less like that.

It looks like they got close.

I checked the other side, there's no damage.
![]() 08/30/2015 at 14:14 |

Damage is one side only, which makes it peculiar....

Gas station maybe?
![]() 08/30/2015 at 14:17 |

Now that is weird. I’m guessing they hit a building overhang then ... Or a big ass tree branch.

Naw, I’m pretty sure he got mauled by a T-Rex bro.

Being a rental, the truck was probably traveling at such an incredible speed that the roof just started to peel off.

Oh, maybe! Dang though....

Think I can make it in between there?

How do you keep going most of the way down the truth if you hear something though.

I can back this claim.
![]() 08/30/2015 at 15:18 |

Well, it worked well enough to get to the parking lot...

He was in denial.

Guess he thought it was just a branch

Arched bridge with enough radius/angle/whatever that it only hit the one side and just missed the other?
![]() 08/30/2015 at 22:25 |
|
Oh, good theory!
![]() 08/31/2015 at 00:56 |

Bridge is at an angle, not level to the road below. Saw it in ‘Jersey small towns for rail while the landform underneath changed pitch for a hill.

should read 1 800 rent a wreck

It probably will now, lol.
